We’ve recently received some truly heart-warming feedback from children, families, and professionals involved in our Changing Lives Through Horses (CLTH) programme — and we couldn’t be prouder. 💛🐴

Sue, our lead coach, and her fantastic team work closely with a range of services to support every child who visits our school. Hearing how much the programme means to our young people and their families reminds us why we do what we do.

Welcome Lightning — Our Newest Addition Helping Change Lives

We’re excited to share some wonderful news from Nuneaton & North Warwickshire Equestrian Centre: we’ve welcomed a new horse, Lightning, thanks to an incredible fundraising effort by the Warwickshire Police Cadets.

🌟 A Community Effort

Last month, the cadets completed an impressive 24-hour walk, raising £3,720 to support our centre. Their generosity has allowed us to purchase Lightning, who has already begun making a difference in the lives of young people who visit us.

🐴 Lightning Begins His Journey

Lightning has joined our Changing Lives Through Horses programme, run in partnership with The British Horse Society (BHS). This scheme helps children and young people aged 5–25 develop essential life skills, including:

• Confidence

• Communication

• Teamwork

• Responsibility

Lightning’s gentle nature and kind temperament have made him an instant favourite among participants.
“He’s settling in really well and everyone is enjoying meeting him and starting to work with him,” says Sue Lynch, one of our dedicated coaches.

🏆 Celebrating Excellence

We are also incredibly proud to share that Sue Lynch was awarded the BHS Coach Award 2025 earlier this month. Sue has supported 65 young people through the programme and continues to make a lasting impact.

“The Changing Lives Through Horses programme truly does what it says,” Sue told the BBC. “I’ve seen so many participants grow in confidence and find new purpose through their time with the horses.”
